Registered Black Angus Cattle
We raise high-quality Registered Black Angus cattle with a focus on natural development, environmental adaptability, and long-term performance. Our herd rotationally grazes irrigated mountain meadows across the ranch, starting at elevations of 8,000 feet and above. Docility, structural soundness, and range-developed genetics are the foundation of our program—because cattle should not only thrive, but work with you every step of the way.

This same commitment to quality carries over into our pasture-raised, grain-finished beef. Our cattle are raised on high-altitude grasses and thoughtfully finished to deliver rich flavor, tenderness, and consistency you can trust. From breeding decisions to the final cut, every step reflects our dedication to producing beef that honors the land, the animal, and the families we serve.
Mountain Grass Hay
Our mountain grass hay is grown in lush, irrigated meadows across the ranch at high elevation. Each field features a diverse mix of native grasses with clover naturally spread throughout, producing nutrient-rich, well-balanced forage. We harvest in August and September, carefully monitoring moisture levels before and during baling to ensure quality and preservation. Both round bales and small square bales are available to meet a variety of feeding and handling needs.
Private Land Hunting Access
Our ranch sits at the gateway to the Little Flat Tops, surrounded by the pristine Flat Tops Wilderness Area and expansive BLM lands. This incredible setting is home to one of the largest elk herds in North America, along with trophy mule deer, black bears, mountain lions, and countless other native species.

Living alongside this wildlife is both a privilege and a responsibility. As generational land stewards, we are deeply committed to maintaining the health of these ecosystems through thoughtful grazing practices, water conservation, and habitat preservation. We believe that when you care for the land, it gives back—for generations to come.
In addition to ranching, we offer exclusive private recreation opportunities across the property, including hunting, hiking, and nature-based experiences. Whether you're tracking elk through the aspens or simply taking in the solitude of Colorado’s high country, Windler Ranch offers a rare and meaningful connection to the land.
